The pinnacle of Roger Moore’s career came in 1972 when he was cast in the role of James Bond. Earlier he was the famous Simon Tampler in the TV series, “The Saint” and co-starred with Tony Curtis in the TV series, “The Persuaders.” Before becoming a star, Moore had a fascinating career on both the London and New York stages and in the Hollywood studios. In 1991 he was appointed a UNICEF special Ambassador and since then he has toured the world on field trips and speaking at fundraising events.
Roger Moore was awarded the CBE in the 1999 Queen’s New Year Honours. In recent years, Moore has concentrated on his UNICEF work but continued to work in film, TV, and on stage when time allows.
Most recently he has voiced a number of animated characters in the films Here Comes Peter Cottontail, The Fly Who Loved Me, and Agent Crush. He has also appeared in London’s West End and on Broadway as a special guest in The Play What I Wrote.
